The beaches in Zanzibar are subject totides. Daily tide information can be foundat our reception or you can download theapp “tides”. When the tide is low, you canwalk along the beach enjoying the cleansand of Paje.

Please, in respect to local religion, wewould recommend to not walk inswimsuits through the village. The law at Zanzibar is not supportive anybehaviour which isn’t heterosexual. In general we recommend to limit sexualattraction at the public places.

99% of Zanzibari people are Muslim. Thereis a mosque that you might hearthroughout the day/night. During thosetimes, if we are having live music, we needto take a small break. We highlyrecommend a walk through the village, todiscover more about Paje and to encounter beautiful smiles.

Upon request, we are happy to arrangefor you the transfer form the airport ($45for up to 4 people) or from any other placeif you are already on the island.

Check-in time is from 14:00 onwards. Youare however welcome to arrive earlier andmake use of our facilities while we storeyour luggage until your room is ready. Wekindly ask you if possible, to let us knowyour time of arrival at Aluna or your flightnumber and time of arrival at the airport.

On the island, you are welcome to paycash in $ (make sure they are printed after2009), or Tanzanian Shillings (TSH), notalways is accepted payment with creditcard and a surcharge may be added. Inour lodge, also € are accepted. Please notea 5% imposed charge will be added for allcredit card payments during your stay.There is an ATM in Paje which gives youthe possibility to withdraw money (TSH)and money changing office.

We have 2 rooms with an interconnecting door, making it a room for 4 people if booked together. Send us an email with your request and we will let you know if these two rooms are available during your preferred dates. One of the rooms will have a private spa bath in the garden, both rooms will have an outside, tropical shower.

Visit our Booking page to make a 100% safe booking for the best price to be found online. If you don’t see any options, that means that there is not one and the same room available during your entire stay. However, if you don’t mind packing up again, we might be able to split your booking by moving to different rooms or room types.

In this case, please book the first nights and send us an email to manually add the other nights. In case of a choice, let us know which room types you favor.

After finalizing this, we will send you an updated invoice for you to approve of.

Every booking is including a fresh, continental breakfast.

If you book half board, a delicious three course meal is included, In case of full board, lunch is also included. Both half and full board are excluding drinks.

All bookings are excluding city tax of 5$ person/night.

Extra bed 5$/night.

This is depending on the room type you’ve chosen. Our Twin/Double and Comfort Pool View rooms have the option to add an extra bed for $40/night, excluding city tax of $1/person/night.

We sure do! We even have an offer for couples massages. Second person for half of the price. You can also get your hair braided or get a (temporary) henna tattoo. For more information and prices, please send us an email.

Every season has its own beauty. April/May is known as the so called ‘green season’ so there will be more rainfall. However there are plenty of days with a lot of sunshine so don’t let the seasons hold you back!

HOW FAR IS ALUNA NUNGWI FROM THE AIRPORT?2023-11-20T08:28:36+00:00

Aluna Nungwi is an hour and a half drive from the airport. Since the roads are bad and there are a lot of police stops, we would advise you to book a shuttle to come to Aluna ($50, one way up to 4 people).
